Sample flights

Deals on flights to Trinidad and Tobago from Miami and Los Angeles are rare, so it’s worth booking if you can.

Here are two routes to Piarco International Airport (POS):

  • American: Departing from Miami International Airport (MIA), starting at $261.
  • United: Departure from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), starting at $379 (including layover).

The Miami flight is non-stop, but the flight from Los Angeles includes a layover at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH).

We recommend using Google Flights to locate the ideal dates and then book flights directly through the airline’s website. Compared to Google Flights, airline websites are more reliable if your flight experiences a delay, cancellation or change of booking.

On Google Flights, American has two options for non-stop flights to Trinidad and Tobago from May 11 through May 18. One flight is the $261 discounted flight that leaves Miami at 5:35 p.m. Earlier in the day, at 10:05 a.m., both flights took three hours and 50 minutes.

The cheapest return flight to Miami also costs $261 and leaves Port of Spain at 3:22 p.m.

The prices in this deal only extend to the economy. For Americans in particular, Miami discounted fares only apply to basic economy class, which charges a seat selection fee and does not allow ticket changes or refunds.

US Basic Economy also allows passengers to bring free hand baggage and personal items on board.

If you want to choose a seat on your flights, it will cost between $12 and $113 extra. Seats cost $113 and are the US “Extra Master Cabin,” which provides 6 inches of legroom and is located at the front of the plane.

Despite only limited flight options from Miami and Los Angeles, the prices on this deal are too good to miss. Los Angeles hasn’t seen heavily discounted fare for Trinidad and Tobago in a couple of years, and such a low fare from Miami is relatively uncommon for the majority of the year.

These flights are sure to fill up quickly, so if you live in or near Los Angeles or Miami, now is the time to plan a trip to Trinidad and Tobago.
