Train passengers attention! Indian Railways released ‘Trains Glimpse’

In an update regarding all Indian Railways passengers, the national carrier has released the new All India Rail timetable known as TRAINS AT A GLANCE or TAG. This new schedule will be effective from 1Street October 2022. Indian Railways made the new trains available at a glance on its official website The new train timetable will include runtime/timetable, route and other details of all trains within the Indian Railways network. Necessary changes have been made in the schedule to improve punctuality. Due to concerted efforts, punctuality on Mail/Express trains has improved by about 9% compared to punctuality during the pre-Covid period (2019-20). The national carrier operates around 3,240 Mail/Express trains which include Vande Bharat Express, Gatimaan Express, Shatabdi Express, Rajdhani Express, Humsaafar Express, Tejas Express, Duronto Express, Antyodaya Express, Garib Rath Express, Sampark Kranti Express, Yuva Express, Uday Express, Janshatabdi Express and other types of trains. Indian Railways also operates around 3,000 passenger trains and 5,660 suburban trains. The daily carried passenger volume is around Rs 2.23 crore which is more than the total population of many countries.

Indian Railways has conducted more than 65,000 special train journeys to weather the extra rush and meet passenger demand during 2021-22. To increase the carrying capacity of the trains, about 566 buses were permanently increased to different pistons. To get the most out of rolling stock, Indian Railways conducted a review of lie shovels and noted that shovels could be better used to extend existing services or increase frequency. This will maximize the use of rolling stock and provide better connectivity for the traveling passengers. During the year 2021-2022, 106 new services were introduced, 212 services were expanded, and the frequency of 24 services increased.

Indian Railways is converting Mail/Express trains powered by ICF design pistons to improve passenger safety and provide faster transit with better driving comfort. Indian Railways transferred 187 MXX from ICF to LHB for the period from 2021 to 2022.

Indian Railways Premium Train Service:

At present, Vande Bharat Express trains operate between New Delhi – Varanasi and New Delhi – Shri Mata Vaishnu Devi Katra. Another Vande Bharat Express train was introduced between Gandhinagar Capital and Mumbai Central wef 30.09.2022. It is proposed to introduce more Vande Bharat Express trains across the Indian Railways network. Tejas Express providing in-flight services such as entertainment, local cuisine, Wi-Fi, etc. is also spread across the Indian Railways network. At present, 7 pairs of Tejas Express services operate on Indian Railways.
