American Airlines has unveiled new loaded wing seats for long-haul flights from Houston

Fierce and fiery, Houston attorney John M. Aucoin was famous – and notorious – for his tireless pursuit of villains and his ability to charm and impress jurors with his charismatic and powerful presence.

The man who boasted a collection of cars valued at more than $100 million – including what was considered the world’s oldest motorized car – sadly died in 2009 in a single car crash, but he left a legacy of helping the needy and charitable work, notably his alma mater The University of Houston .

It is appropriate, then, for UH to officially open a file John M Aucoin Law Building Thursday 22nd September. The ribbon-cutting ceremony, scheduled for 6 p.m., will be a celebration with Harvard President Renu Kator. Leonard M. Baines, Dean of the UH Law Center; UH Alumni, Donors and VIPs.

Years in operation, the $93 million Modern Law Center is the newest legal building in Texas. Designed by women-owned architecture firm Shepley Bulfinch, the ultra-modern five-story building offers 180,000 square feet of space for research, clinics, courtrooms and events.

UH Law students now enjoy amenities such as a two-story library, meditation room, passenger shower with changing rooms, an outside balcony with great views of campus and downtown Houston, student lounge, and a convenience store.

“This has been a decades-long dream of alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends who wanted a new building that represented the quality and standard of the Law Center,” said Leonard Pines, dean of the University of Houston Law Center.

O’Quinn graduated from UH Law Center in 1967 and would go on to become one of the most recognizable and daring names in Bayou City. After his death in 2009, the John M. Aucoin Foundation donated more than $16 million to support the Law Center and Building Construction.

The New Law Center is located at 4170 Martin Luther King Blvd. , in the northeast corner of the UH campus. Students, faculty, and staff began using the building earlier this semester.

John O’Quinn was one of UH’s most famous alumni.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of Harvard Law Center, which was founded in 1947. It is home to the university’s LLM and LLM. Degree programs as well as nationally ranked clinics, specialty institutes, pre-law pipeline programs, and professional services

Three of the center’s law programs have been ranked in the top 10 nationally US News & World Report : No. 6 in intellectual property law, No. 7 in healthcare law, and No. 9 in part-time law degree program.
